Using Our Grounds

To strive for purity of water, the clarity of air, and the wise stewardship of the land and its resources; to know the beauty and understanding of nature, and the value of wildlife, woodlands and open space; to the preservation of this heritage and to man's sharing in it, I pledge myself as a member of the Izaak Walton League of America.

A broken hot water heater has caused mold and mildew to grow in the basement of our Chapter House to the point that we are now forced to completely renovate in order for the facility to be used for meetings.

The Lois Green/Sligo Chapter of the IWLA has always worked hard to support our mission, and the meeting room in the chapter house is an integral part of our facility. Unfortunately, being the smallest chapter in the state with only 40 members and with limited revenue the Chapter is not in a position to pay for renovations from existing funds. We are forced to rely on the generosity of freinds, neighbors and fellow conservationists to raise the $36,000 needed to complete the renovations.

Tax-free donations can be made at four different levels: Gold: $500 and above
Silver: $250 to $499
Bronze: $100 to $249
Friend: up to $99

Individuals or groups making a donation in the Gold, Silver, or Bronze levels will have their names listed on a plaque that will be hung in the renovated Chapter Meeting room.

To make a donation please send a check made payable to the Lois Green/Sligo Chapter - IWLA to:

Mike Thomas, LGSC-IWLA
7436 Cinnabar Terrace
Gaithersburg, Maryland 20879

In turn you will be mailed a confirmation letter that will include appropriate tax information.

Thank you in advance for your support of our Chapter and the work that we do to protect our local environment.
